NSE Subcontracting Agreement with FLIR Systems in Support of French ‘DrOP’ Program

PARIS, 18 June 2019 -  NSE (France) announced today that it has signed an in-service subcontracting agreement with FLIR Systems, Inc. (USA) in support of the French DrOP (Drone Opérationnel de Poche) program.

Under the agreement, NSE will serve as a subcontractor to FLIR and provide in-country technical and logistics support. NSE will deliver a range of services that leverage its expertise supporting military equipment, including multi-channel user interface, state stock management, overall logistics linked to military units, Level 2 maintenance and lifecycle management.

“It greatly benefits us to have the support of an industry leader like NSE while working to supply the FLIR Black Hornet to French armed forces,” said David Ray, President of FLIR’s Government and Defense Business Unit. “NSE gives FLIR the logistics and maintenance expertise we need on the ground and a full-support partner in France.”

“It is an honour to have been selected by FLIR for this key program,” said Guillaume Laurin, Chairman of the Management Board of NSE. “We look forward to continuing to provide high level in-service support for the French armed forces.”

Awarded by the French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA), FLIR’s DrOP contract calls for the company to deliver its FLIR Black Hornet 3 Personal Reconnaissance System (PRS) to French armed forces. At 32 grams with a flight time up to 25 minutes, the nearly silent Black Hornet 3 nano-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) transmits live video and high-definition still images back to the operator. Its information feed provides soldiers with immediate covert situational awareness to help them more effectively complete their mission.
